Dear Parents and Carers,
Mrs Snowden has already shared with you some of the exciting activities we have organised to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. We now have an addition to the plans.*
The children have already attended workshops where they painted a commemorative plate. If you have not already paid the £4 contribution, please may we ask you to pay this via Parent Pay.
*Tomorrow Wednesday 25th May, there will be a change to the lunch menu. The children will be able to enjoy a Jubilee Day menu. An email and App message has been sent to Parents of Reception to Year 6 children. This is also available on the website in the Parents tab.
We will be holding a whole school street party on Thursday 26th May. In the morning the children will be making sandwiches and decorations and weather permitting, in the afternoon the children will have a street party on the playground – if the weather is not good the children will have a 'street party' in their classrooms. We will be asking parents for a £2:00 contribution for this party. We have decided to ask for a monetary contribution instead of parents bringing in certain foods; this is due to a number of children having allergies. We would be grateful if you have not already done so please can you make this payment as soon as possible.
A circus will also be entertaining the children during the day on Thursday 26th May. We are heavily subsidising all the jubilee events, but would ask our parents to pay the contributions required. If we do not receive the contributions, we will need to revisit whether we can offer these events to the children. All the above events will hopefully ensure the children, when they grow older, remember how we as a school celebrated this occasion.
Thank you for your continued support
