At WHA experiential learning is a key part of the curriculum we offer. In addition to trips to enhance and support our curriculum, we want all our children to experience 10 memorable experiences by the age of 10.
The classroom is an effective simulation of the real world however experiential learning argues that when learning is put into to a real-life situation it becomes more powerful. This supports the idea that in order to prepare the children effectively for life we need to give them memorable experiences.
Below are our '10 By 10' experiences:
Whole School: Pantomime
Reception: Walk in the woods and den building experience
Year 1: Working farm experience
Year 2: Seaside experience
Year 3: Cinema by train experience
Year 4: Art Gallery experience
Year 5: London experience
Overnight camping adventure
Year 6: Theatre experience
Live sporting experience
