Our group all had a great time looking at the environment around the school.  We used sweep nets to see which insects were living in the trees, and found over 20 species!  We then began working on the pond area.  We cleared the pond out and also used a special periscope to look under the surface of the water.  Not a lot was seen as the water was quite muddy after all the rain!

We did some weeding, planted two trees: an apple tree a and a blueberry shrub.  We put marigolds in the weeded flower bed and planted several shrubs with petunias and geraniums. We also planted some herbs.  Now we need to keep up the watering of our new plants, especially as it is quite dry and sunny now
