Reception children enjoy a hands-on outdoor learning adventure with a visit to a local woodland area. Stepping beyond the classroom walls, the children spend the day exploring the rich natural surroundings, building woodland dens out of fallen branches, and crafting creative natural art using materials they gather along the forest floor. From arranging colorful leaves and twigs into unique patterns to working together to balance sturdy logs for their shelters, the children use their imaginations to turn the forest into an engaging, interactive learning space.

This outdoor experience provides a fantastic opportunity for the children to develop essential social and environmental skills. Working in groups to build their dens encourages them to collaborate, communicate, and solve problems together as a team. At the same time, exploring the woodland ignites their natural curiosity about the local environment, prompting them to observe wildlife, ask questions, and notice small details in nature.
