Week 9

Good morning everyone. See below your learning for the week. Now that we are back at school, we have decided to upload the week on Monday. Have a lovely week and don't forget to keep emailing your home learning to us. 

 

Monday 8th June

9:15 – 10:00

Maths

New KS1 maths workbook Complete page 18 + 19 – Division . This is a new topic so don’t worry if you find it difficult – ask your adult for help if you need it.

10:15 – 11:00

What happens in the beginning, middle and end. Get your family involved and try to tell the story with actions just like we do in class.

Listen/ watch the story ‘The Pirates next door’ again. Use the actions you made on Monday to create a story map.

Phonics/Reading

Listen to or watch ‘The Pirates Next door’. The Pirates have moved in next door. Why do you think Tilda’s parents were not happy with the pirates moving in next door? Write your thoughts in full sentences in your writing book.

Phonic Sounds

Can you find some items around your house that have the ‘oo’ sound in them? They could be spelt with the letters – ew, -ue and the split digraph u-e. Can you sound out the word and write the word with the correct sound in it?

2:00 – 3:00

Creative Time

Go for a walk and into your garden, and talk about what plants and trees you can see. Draw a picture of what you can see and notice the different parts of the plant or tree.

Think about the story ‘The Pirates next door’ Can you write a sentence to explain the beginning of the story, the middle of the story and the end of the story? What happens in each section and who is involved?

Pirates travel in boats. Can you design your own pirate boat. What colour would the sails be? What material would you use?

 

Thursday 11th June

Look at or listen to the page that described each of the pirates that move in next door. Write a descriptive paragraph to describe one of them.

Can you find any ‘pirate’ words in the book ‘The Pirate next door’? Make a list of all the words that are associated with pirates.

Phonic Sounds

Can you find some items around your house that have the ‘ee’ sound in them? They could be spelt with the letters e and y /diagraphs – ee and ea.  Can you sound out the word and write the word with the correct sound in it?

Creative Time

Look at a plant or a picture of a plant.  Draw the plant and all of its parts. Can you label you picture with all of the parts of a plant?
