Week 4

Self Portrait Competition

We have an exciting competition for you with a mystery prize. Can you create a self portrait? That means a picture of yourself. You can draw it (paper or computer) , paint it or create it in any other ways that you want. We are looking for likeness and creativity as well showing the WHA values. Remember to have the courage and positivity to submit your entry even if it didn't turn out exactly how you imagined it in your head. Looking in the mirror at yourself is a great place to start. Have fun!

Write a story!
Write a story about your character you made. Where will they go? What will happen when they get there? What will happen at the end?
You could make it into a story book with your own pictures for each page.

Remember to:

  • Use your phonics to segment and blend the words yourself. For example: “I went to the beech.” This sentence is using the sounds that we have learnt so far. 
  • Use your writing checklist (Capital letter, full stop, finger spaces, and number of words).

Write about your bed. What does it look like? If you could have any bed in the world what would it look like? Draw a picture to match your description.

Creative Time

Dress up as a fantasy character and role play. Get your family to dress up with you and go on an adventure!

You could create a den using bed sheets, turn your bed into a pirate ship, or play the floor in lava while you cross the room.

Maths

Make your own magic potion. Can you write out all of the ingredients?

 

For example; 1 full cup of water.1 half full cup of rice.

1 nearly empty cup of flour.

Draw a picture and write about an adventure you would like to go on.  If you had a magic bed where would you go? What would you like to see? Who would you meet? What will happen there?

Extension: Can you include some adjectives (a describing word)?

Complete page 24 in your maths booklet. If you can use different sized cups and water to explore capacity. Can you use the vocabulary correctly?

 

Week 4 – Monday 27th April

This week we are beginning our new topic of Fantasy. Please refer to the Project Passport for Summer 1 in the Information folder.

In response to some feedback please find attached the weeks learning in order for you to prepare ahead of time if you would like. Alternatively we will still upload daily here.
