Week 2

Nursery suggested daily timetable week 2.

Before 9.00am

Get ready!

Carry out your usual morning routine (that you would do before coming to Nursery). Why not use the video to remind you how to wash your hands effectively!

Morning exercise

Youtube: Children’s Zumba videos

How many star jumps can you do? Sing head, shoulders knees and toes… fast!

Go out into the garden and do as many laps around it as you can!

Youtube: Go Noodle

Youtube: The Learning Station

Learning time – Fine Motor

Practise squeezing by helping to hang out the washing using clothes pegs.

Practise your pencil grip by drawing a picture of some one. Can you remember to include all of their features?

How many play dough snakes can you make? How long can you make them? How skinny can you roll them? How thick can you roll them?

Find some string or some wool and see how many things you can find around the house that you can thread onto the string!

Practise your pencil grip by tracing over some wavy lines and zig-zags that your adult has drawn in highlighter.

Learning time - Maths

Counting – ask an adult to give you two small groups of items. Which group has the most? Which group has the least? How many did each group have? Did the groups have the same amount? Repeat for differing amounts.

Recap the shapes you found last week. What other shapes can you find around your home? Can you find the same shape in different colours? Can you draw around your shape?

Use your playdough to make some round balls. Can you make a bigger one? Can you make a smaller one? Which is the smallest? Which is the biggest? Which is the medium sized one? Can you line them up in size order?

Make a colour pattern. Choose two different colours and find as many items in those colours as you can. Line them up and make a pattern – red, blue, red, blue etc… Move on to three colours if you’re confident!

Have a look on your tablet and find a number game that you can play!

Creative Time

Use some old magazines and cut out some colourful pictures. Can you find a picture for each colour: red, blue, yellow, green, purple, orange, pink, brown, white and black.

Get creative and choose an activity from your Project Passport.

Borrow someone’s camera or phone and take some photos of different colours around your house. If you’re confident – can you find lighter and darker shades of each colour?

Make an Easter card for a relative! Or, go on an egg hunt!

Use up some old ingredients from the kitchen and toiletries from the bathroom to make a ‘potion’. What would your potion do? Remember not to eat it!
