Oracy

Our vision is to place oracy at the heart of learning, creating language-rich environments and talk-rich children. By explicitly teaching oracy, we aim to develop pupils’ language skills, helping them find their voice, express themselves effectively, and build strong relationships. We empower them to speak confidently, listen attentively, and respond thoughtfully, both verbally and non-verbally, to achieve successful outcomes. We believe that speaking and listening are intertwined, guiding children to become eloquent, concise, and empathetic communicators. Valuing every voice, we ensure that every opportunity shapes a life.
What is Oracy?
‘Oracy is the ability to articulate ideas, develop understanding and engage with others through spoken language – learning to talk and through talk.’ (Voice21).
