• Victoria Ohuruogu visits WHA

  On Monday 5th February WHA was lucky enough to have GB sprinter and Commonwealth athlete Victoria Ohuruogu visit the school. During Victoria's visit children in years 1-6 had the chance to take part in a sponsored circuit which was led by Victoria herself. 

  All of the children had a fantastic morning and all managed to take part in the circuits with smiles all around. 

  WHA Sports leaders also had the chance to have a meeting with Victoria and ask questions which children across the school had come up with. The sports leaders loved the opportunity to represent all of the children at WHA and will present the answers to a large amount of the questions after February half term.

  Thank you to everyone who Sponsored their children and a massive thank you to all of the children for creating a wonderful memorable experience at WHA.

  

• WHA Summer Fayre

  Western House Academy's Summer Fayre was a hit.

  The Friends of Western House did a brilliant job organising such a fun event.

• RUNWALJOG / PICNIC

  Thank you to all our families who joined us this afternoon for our whole school picnic and RUNWALJOG event, it was so lovely to see so many faces.

  Everyone had a brilliant time in the sunshine.

• Year 6 - School trip to KidZania

• Year 5 Camping

  The year 5 children had an excellent time camping on the school field. They has gorgeous weather for it too!

  

• Year 4 Dragon's Den

  Today some of our Year 4 pupils took part in a Dragons Den experience. The children had to pitch their inventions to the Dragons, (Mrs Snowden & Mrs Kearney) and answer some interesting questions.

  Congratulations to those that successfully got an offer and took the Dragons on board!

  

• Staff V Pupil Netball Match

  Today our Year 5 and 6 netballers took part in a match against the staff. The children have worked so hard over the past 12 weeks and thoroughly enjoyed showing off their skills. Lots of children in the school came out to spectate which really encouraged the teams.

  The final score was 4-3 to the staff.

  A really enjoyable morning was had by all involved!

• Year 6 SATs breakfast club

  The children did so well with their SATs last week. We are incredibly proud of how they conducted themselves.

   

  They showed our values throughout the week and enjoyed the breakfast each morning - some children have asked if we could serve them with breakfast every day!

• Coronation Day

  On Friday 5th May Western House Academy celebrated the King's Coronation. 

  The children enjoyed making crowns, decorating biscuits and other Coronation activities in their classes.
